Re: what brakes?! help me

I have ebc drilled and slotted rotors With napa mid grade pads. I like the set up had them on since march of 2011. My brother likes hawk cermeric pads on his car and that's all he'll get now.

I've heard great things about EBC.

Re: what brakes?! help me

Too many threads on this.

EBC reds and powerslot (centric) slotted rotors for the rears.

Haven't done the front yet, but when I do, I'll use the search function.

Re: what brakes?! help me

In my teg I never bought anything more than mid grade auto zone brand with lifetime warrenty. Always get free break pads, and they seem to work just fine. My question is (sorry to jack, OP) do high end break pads really do that much to justify buying them? Not hating, simply asking. If they are well worth it, then I will follow this thread and invest.

Re: what brakes?! help me

In heavy braking they create less brake dust and from my experience the dust they do create is easier to get off the rims than crappy pads. I'd only get high end if you need them. I get mid grade because the dust they make i can get off in my weekly car wash.

Depends what your using the car for. Cheaper pads can't take excessive heat and just fall to bits. Pads like the the Hawk HP+ still have good cold bite but are able to work well when very hot.
