My exhaust rattles. Found the culprit.

My car has been making a rattling noise for a while and I knew it was coming from my exhaust but I've never had a chance to get under and look at the issue. Just today I found out what's causing the noise but I'm sure how to solve it. The bracket that holds this part of the exhaust is broken. I took two pictures for you guys. You can see the crack in the pictures. The clip is completely broken off. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: My exhaust rattles. Found the culprit.

If you have access to a welder then i'd try welding it. If you don't have one or know anyone with one then if it was me i'd take the bracket off completly because rattling exhaust is sooooo annoying. Then i'd fix it right when i had the chance. Good Luck

Call Honda and ask for a new bracket.

Re: My exhaust rattles. Found the culprit.

That looks to be the bracket that holds the downpipe to the block, correct? My 4th gen made an annoying rattle until I removed that useless bracket and haven't had issues since. My aftermarket header did not line up right with that bracket but it didn't provide any support anyway. I vouch ditch it for a bit and see if the exhaust hangs lower there and if it is necessary to repair...

Happen to me too, I also removed the bracket and it's been fine. I broke a couple of em and finally just never bothered putting a new one on.

Re: My exhaust rattles. Found the culprit.

Yeah I just took the dang thing off. I hit the pipe with my fist a few times to see if it'd budge but it felt as tough as the chassis itself. I think I'm solid. Turned the car on and no rattle :) Thanks guys!

Re: My exhaust rattles. Found the culprit.

As long as it doesn't hang down then it don't matter. Rattling is so annoying. Probably the most annoying thing that can happen while driving except the car not running. haha

Re: My exhaust rattles. Found the culprit.

It was seriously the most annoying buzzing noise I've ever heard coming from a car. Haha

Re: My exhaust rattles. Found the culprit.

this same thing is happening to me, you say the culprit is the mounting bracket that connects the down pipe to the engine, That can just be removed without negative consequence? also does it only happen with aftermarket headers and down pipe, I have DC
