grinding noise and rough pedal during acceleration help please

i have an 01 honda prelude 5 spd and it started to make a grinding noise at around 2500-3000 RPM in all gears. i also feel it in the gas pedal. its not constant it doesn't happen when i first start to drive and while i drive it comes and goes. any ideas what could cause this?

Is it while you're in motion only, or also while stopped if you rev to that 2-3K range?

could be wheel rubbing on inner fender...

Or does it sounds like metal grinding (gears)

make sure you arent holding the stick down after you shift (ie: putting pressure on the shifter)

Have you checked the condition of your CV axles? If the boot on either side has ripped and spewed out all the grease, those make grinding noises like that, and maybe it's just more noticible to you once the wheels are spinning that fast.

Check tranny fluid, maybe drain and replace just for good measure. How confident are you that it may be coming from the driveline? If it's only while you're in motion, then it's gonna be either a part that's in motion itself, or a part affected by a part in motion. If you think about vibrations throughout the car, that could mean it's anything. How loud is it? How are your motor mounts?

Check your wheel bearings. I had a slight noise coming from my passenger side.. thought nothing of it since my axles were fine. Sure enough it got worse and it screwed up my axle with it.
