Honda FNG

hello everybody,

I am new to HONDAS and its affiliates, i recently purchased a 98 lude base, i knew it had issues when i got it, long story short i had the block cleaned and overbore because the pistons were all messed up as well as the walls,( I have rebuilt other mazdas and vw motors). i was told i can leave the balance shafts not connected to the belts and it would run fine, i was told this cause the bearings that are in the block for the balance shafts it seems to be missing some and i cant find any online and the dealer, well is a parts seller and not a mechanic. so are there any bearings there? and is it possible to leave the shafts disconnected.
thanks in advance guys

and yes i looked through the forums and found stuff about build, there is a lot here,

Re: Honda FNG

^lol. I'm not sure on that man, but personally i wouldn't leave them disconnected, if you do i would imagine you would experience a lot of shaking and it can't be good for the motor. just my .02 but you just rebuilt the motor so why skip over something like that and risk it. sorry i couldn't help more, good luck and welcome to the site.

Wait. Just to make sure you know what your doing. Did the person that bored it out know how to work with frm cylinder walls? How much did they bore it and what pistons are u planning on running now?

Re: Honda FNG

I wouldn't leave the balance shafts disconnected... Either put it back together right or get a balance shaft delete kit. There are write-ups on the forums of different ways to take care of the delete job though so just search around here and on preludeonline.com and preludepower.com... just my two cents

^^^Agreed. 100% If the factory put it in the it would be dumb not to use them. Also if you not gonna hook it up then do it the right way not half-assed.

Screenshot then save it to your desktop. Go to Photobucket and upload it and then you can post it anywhere you like.
