How much should I be paying for a 5th?

Alright guys, I've been hunting for a 5th for
quite sometime now and haven't come up with
anything.

I have noticed that Ludes over 100k miles are
fairly cheap but anything lower than that is
going anywhere from 9500 to 15000.

I'm looking for a BLK 5SPD BaseLude preferrably
99-01 with some low miles.

I was lucky enough to find a 99 with 66k miles
in the Bronx but the fyckers wouldn't finance
an 8-year old car. They had it for $10k. I was
reading Thursday's Daily News and that same
vehicle, which was now sold, was in a drunk driving
accident in which the driver was killed because
he hit a tree on the BQE...aint that some shyt?

Question is...how much should I be paying for
a lude?

I know insurance for it is gonna be a bytch but I'm
just looking for a deal.

Any questions/comments are greatly appreciated!

Yah i read that too in the Post...or was it the Daily?

...Dr., for a 99-01, expect to pay from $8000. - $13000.
Dont be afraid to travel outside major cities...use craigslist. I noticed Philly used cars are a lot cheaper than NYC. Since you're in NC, travel out to VA, SC etc. For 97-99, 5th gen Ludes are generally cheaper, like from $6000-$8000.

...on the loan thing. Any car over 8 years, you cant get a loan. You're better off going to your bank and talking to them. Check out capital one as well...

I should've edited my first to say that I'd be willing to travel around 400 miles to find a good one. I'll even have the fycker shipped if I have to.

I lived in VA a couple months ago and have had the same problem. What you said about PA is true though, they are quite cheaper over there.

I appreciate the input bruh

I would recommend opening up your boundaries. I live in columbus, OH and I got my car in NYC. I flew up and drove it back in one day, best 12.5 I have ever spent(only 12.5 I have ever spent). As for costs, tops, never pay more than $15k for low mileage. I know about prices b/c I searched for 4 years and finally found the one. If you need to find a source of financing, go back to the bank and look at a line of credit. If you put $$$ down, you can get approved for the rest most likely. I put down $9k and got a LOC for $4k. Also, when looking, make sure that the black coating is not coming off the engine head. I know a lot of honda workers, and they all say this is not a good sign for the engine. There is one on ebay(01) in NY right now with 58k miles and her engine is like that. It also has everything you want nighthawk black pearl plus it's a stick. I am just warning you though. She is in middletown, NY. Her BIN is $14200. If you don't mind the smell of smoke there is one in Exton, PA with 88k miles(00). It is also black/manual and has a leather interior.

Mine had 57,600 on it when I purchased it (in low 60s now), I payed $4,600. Perfect shape, an older woman was going to trade the car on an Chevy Astro Van and I almost crapped myself and bought it out right from her. I couldn't be happier.

Well, I've been searching for a lude for about 2.5 years now so I know you can all feel my pain. I'm in the process of selling my current car (01 Kia Spectra GS) so I know that with that money down, I can most likely get a decent loan amount for that special one.

It's just fustrating after waiting so long that's all.

Now since you mentioned something about the engine wear. What things should I look out for when getting a 5 spd 5th?

Well, I brought mine for $9500 its a 98 Base with 83,000 miles. I got it in Jersey. I was also searching for quite sometimes before I found mine. Its kinda hard to find one with less than 100,000 miles on them around NY/NJ area. Good luck tho bro, I am sure you would love it when you find the right one.

Make sure you do a carfax or autocheck first. It paid off many times for me.
