How do you drive your Lude?

What's up guys,

As the title asks, how do you guys drive your Lude? Hittin Vtak erryday? Spirited? Casually? Weaving in and out? Taking off every chance you have? Etc.

I drive for the most part pretty hard on the car. It's too much fun to not drive it hard. I usually try to shift at 3-3.5 rpm's but sometimes at a light when I take off, I shift to 2nd and just take off :). At about what rpm's do you guys shift at? I try really hard not to beat on it, but I can't resist the temptation of hearing "Vrroooommm....BAhhhhhhhmmmm lol.

Also, my "Service Light" under the speedometer is like a yellow green, almost like orange yellow at times. When I got the car, it was green and was easy to tell that it was just green. I'm just confused as to what to do now about it? See if the car is running any codes? Just deal with it? Insight please guys.

Re: How do you drive your Lude?

seriously low n slow i know thats a typical saying but 80 percent of my driving is that. the other 20% is when going to car shows/meets and just hangin out all my friends go a lil crazy on the highways so i kinda get a little eager as well but i dont get on it MUCH

Re: How do you drive your Lude?

I give her the treatment she deserves in the mountains of NC where I go to school….hard through the twisties never gets old in the lude. Around town, sometimes I feel like launching, and sometimes I feel like just being really chill. No matter how I'm feeling tho, the car wants to go fast on the expressway. I always end up going faster than I wanted to, but I'm fine with that.

Re: How do you drive your Lude?

Shift at 3K and in 5th at 35mph...

Then autox every other weekend with spirited mountain runs every weekend...

That evens out to a normal driver right?

Re: How do you drive your Lude?

I don't take off from 1st hardly at all. I have a habit of shifting fast, and usually beat the synchros going from first to second. If I don't shift fast, I'll drop outta VTEC in that gear transition only, so I usually wait til 2nd or 3rd to really hit it. 4th is a lotta fun on the highway sometimes, I haven't met up with another car in a similar class that has such a powerful 4th gear lol. I've even pulled a couple Cobalt SS's :)

Re: How do you drive your Lude?

I used to drive like a grand paw because I was trying to "conserve" and make my lude last longer until I can get my engine build. It's really hard not to drive swiftly though. Depends my mood. haha With gas not being so cheap and probably not going down soon I find myself buying more quarts of that purple stuff and gassing up a lot more often haha but its fun its like a hobby/adrenaline thrill.

Re: How do you drive your Lude?

Love to cruise around with mine... Here in puerto rico there arent many nice 5th gen preludes around.... So i like to conserve and appreciate mine and the $$$ ive spent on it so far to keep it really nice and presentable for neckbreaking and shows.... People still stare at my car like if i just took it out of the dealer! Thats why i love preludes! Unique cars!

Re: How do you drive your Lude?

I enjoy the drive, especially being still new to rowing through my own gears so a great fun experience every time I drive.

Only hard driving I do is taking it to VTEC 2-3x/day. oil is checked every 5 days. Even carry an extra 1 liter bottle of it with me. :P

Re: How do you drive your Lude?

Depends on where I'm going.
Sometimes I straight chill, sometimes I drive it like hell. Usually I'm pretty chill though, because I respect the car enough to not beat the hell out of it.
