Is it time to move from the Prelude? :(

Guys I have a dilema, I'm going for 3 years having my Prelude and have absolutely loved it. But lately I've been having alot of problems with it to the point Im thinking on selling it and just getting another car. Just recently my timing belt snapped ( this also just happened last year too ) after 2 times having the timing belt snap I fear I have valves bent or damaged because now im getting P0170 code. Plus to add to the problem list I have clutch failure with the master cylinder, bent front right camber which is eating up my tires, i have an electrical leak which i cant seem to find and more things. :( question is am I being to hopeful to restore it or should I get a new car?

Re: Is it time to move from the Prelude? :(

I asked myself and the group that same question recently. I actually decided against selling my car while in the process of typing out the question. I'm still doing some repairs, but as parts come in, I get more and more excited. There will always be things I need to fix/work out, but I love this car and don't know when I'll be able to part with it. Good luck with yours.

Re: Is it time to move from the Prelude? :(

I totaled my prelude in June last year and within the past two months decided to bring it back to life. It just depends on whether or not you want to put the time in to bring her back to her former glory.

If you read through different prelude forums you will definitely come across stories that will inspire you to fix yours up though.

Got to pay to play. Problems are always gonna rise sooner or later. That's why you have to keep up with maintenance.

Re: Is it time to move from the Prelude? :(

Thanks guys for the opinions, with all your opinions and other people thoughts I have decided to keep the Prelude and restore it even if I have to take the bus sometime lol. Ive been wanting a Prelude since I was kid, people hearing me saying I would sell it they couldn't believe. Would you guys happen to know how to fix the P0170 / P0172 code problems? I need to pass a smog test but the ECU will fail me that way and my tags expire this month.

Re: Is it time to move from the Prelude? :(

Problems can drag you down and make you want to get rid of the car, I had that with my celica and I got rid of it after 3 years of it finally pissing me off. It's up to you if you think you can see yourself driving it in another few years and if its worth it, Idk If I should keep mine and get something aimed more at performance in a few years or mod mine because really they are worth it as they don't go too much worse than a type R so a few suspension mods and engine mods would bring the preludes pretty high performance wise, they are good little sleepers I just think the biggest downfull is the luxury handling but hey! they're made for that.
