Help!

Okay before I start this thread is about my auto trans so if you are going to bash me and say nothing but sell it and buy a 5spd or bash me in general please leave and not waste each others time. I AM going 5spd during the summer but money is a problem right now and Im not getting my part time job for the summer until Mid June and I was hoping to push my auto till I get the money. It's my first car and bought it already having a hard time from 1st to 2nd it would sometimes struggle and sometimes it wouldn't, sick and tired of it throwing me hard into my seat when it finally shifted I started to use the sports shifter which it didn't do it in now its doing it just as bad after 2 weeks of using. Me and my dad took out the shift solenoids and lock up solenoids cleaned them and put them back checked the fluid and everything is good. So now I was pulling a CEL from my car and noticed my D4 is flashing and came up with the code 23. Researched and couldn't find anything. So now I want to find out what that code means I know my trans is fail bound but a quick cheap fix to make it last a little longer would be great. Thanks.

Re: Help!

Don't drive it hard! Try doing an ATF flush it might make a difference with the hard shifts. Just give it time to go into gear when you drive bro and tough it out until you do the 5 speed swap.

Re: Help!

ATF might help. Use Honda ATF and theres a couple members with autos who have had no problems what so ever so maybe they can give you some times even though it might be to late

Re: Help!

code 23 = failing knock sensor.
Replaced knock sensor...still getting code 23 - Honda-Tech

Um, If you buy another Sensor and it still lights up, You might have a bigger problem.

Honestly, Not everyon should have to be forced to drive an Manual to have a sporty car, But Should have a responsibility to upkeep the auto like any other car part, and stop using sportshift.

Re: Help!

I reseted my ECU and the code went away. We had unplugged one of the solenoids and plugged it back in without resetting the ECU right after. So no more D4 blinking. How long do you guys think my tranny will last until it gives up?

Re: Help!

I don't know if its me but the shifting from 1 to 2 has gotten worse since I got the car like this. I'm at 142k miles.
