JDM H22 Swap

I recently found out that my 1998 prelude is burning a lot of oil. As it turns out I have oil blowing past my rings as well as leaking past my valve seals. I was going to do a full oem rebuild. I recently found a guy who has a JDM H22 engine block with the block, pistons, connecting rods, and crank. He only wants $150. I was going to pull my motor and trans have the head rebuilt and then put everything onto the JDM H22 block. Will this work? Will I pick up any horsepower from swapping the blocks. Any recommendations would be greatly helpful in exactly what I should do.

Re: JDM H22 Swap

remember that you have to rebuild that new engine also, so do you really need it? you have to get the same parts so whats the point having another block?

Re: JDM H22 Swap

From some people that I have talked to they say that the JDM H22 will hold more boost and has a little more horsepower than the H22A4.

Re: JDM H22 Swap

I'd grab the H22(A?) parts, myself. And see if I could find some cams cheap- as an extra.
At any rate, you will have a point more compression, and possibly a lot less miles.
