In Place of the Resonator

Has anyone ever fabbed something to funnel air more directly to the air intake filter after removing the stock resonator? Just a topic of conversation I wanted to hear people's input and thoughts about. The design of the space and location of the oval opening where the resonator and stock box used to connect doesn't seem very efficient in directing the most air possible to the intake. I'm sure there's tons of cracks and crannies for air to get to the intake while at speed, but I just thought this might be a good chance to make something to funnel cold air from outside straight to the short ram.

Now that I've written this out, I realized a cold air intake would make this topic pointless. Wow.

Upgrade TB and intake manifold, that should satisfy you.

Re: In Place of the Resonator

I have a short ram air intake on my 5th gen and i took out the plastic under the turn signal. Made a funnel type tube to help force air up thru that opening. i don't think it really helps but i was bored so i tried it. i left the filter above that opening to have air come in a little faster than if it went through that opening.

Re: In Place of the Resonator

I have already taken measurements and have started fabbing up a ram system. Hit it works out I'll make it out of some nice light weight aircraft aluminum :)
