Fuel Metering Unit

What's up guys. Need some help. So since I bought my car a little more than two years ago my gas gauge hasn't been working. I replaced the cluster with another one and that didn't fix it so I too of the floor beam and everything and took out the fuel metering or fuel sending unit out to see if something looked wrong and it seemed fine so I put it back in and the gas gauge needle would move but it would only move to a little below half it stays there. When I gas up all the way it goes almost all the way up pretty much and the needle usually goes down pretty quick after wasting a few gallons of gas. I was tired of having this problem so I bought a brand new Honda OEM Fuel sending/metering unit and nothing changed. I`m tired of having to worry about getting stuck somewhere because I ran out of fuel... 90 bucks down the drain. Need some input what else can it be I also checked behind the cluster to see if the connector was loose but it seems fine. Thanks

Re: Fuel Metering Unit

Sorry i know this thread is old, but i will share my thoughts on it any way. this sounds like a bad ground and or a short in the wiring from the sending unit. along with fueses these are some of the first things to check. when you have fuel level reading issues.
