'00 Lude, need smog advice

I'm sure this has been covered, but I wanted to ask about my specific setup. I have a '00 Prelude, only 80,000 miles, AEM intake, Apexi exhaust, and DC headers. I just moved to California, and I'm wondering if it will pass the smog test. I have until July, but just wanted to get a head start so I have an idea if I might have to make some modifications. Thanks!

Re: '00 Lude, need smog advice

You need to have "carb legal" badges/stickers for the exhaust, header, and intake.

Some counties don't worry about these things, but most do.

Re: '00 Lude, need smog advice

As long as you do not have any CELs, your DC header, Apexi exhaust, & AEM intake have CARB#s on them, the VIN# stamp on your block matches your VIN# on the firewall I am pretty sure you will pass smog. Here in Illinois all they do is plug in an OBDII scanner to look for emission codes. If you don't have any, you pass. California is much stricter though so I would contact a fellow CA person for more specific details.

depending on the area - they may require a carb legal badge or decal

Some parts of cali are strict like that. You need proof if they question the authenticity of the part being "legal".

which is why (just as jgb stated) he needs to check with someone prior to the test so he is aware and has a chance to change or get info for anything he may need to pass

thanks for the tips! I'll check my parts for the decal and call the dmv to see what's necessary for my area.
