Oil light issues can any one help?

Yesterday i put a new cat in my lude it didnt have an o2 port so i just put it in without it untill i can get a tap and dye to install an o2 sensor into the new cat i really needed it i didnt feel like grinding and drilling the pins outta the old one when i put my exahust on. No big deal i knew it was gonna throw a code but anywase i stoped at the gas station on my way to school and the oil light came on but it wasnt super low on oil so i filled her all the way up the light went off. I was at a light later it came back on so i pulled over cut it off put a little bit more oil in and it didnt come back on for a while. shes runin just fine feels like it alwase dose hits vetch well and everything but somtimes when i stop at lights the oil light comes on its really wierd. Can anyone help me? i dont think it would have anything to do with the o2 sensor. could it be a bad sensor or loose connections?or looseing too much pressure at idle? has this happend to anybody else?

there is a single wire that goes to a sensor on the back of the block by the oli filter .. make sure you didnt know the wire off . if its touching the block it will cause the light to come on ..

Each time you add oil, are you checking the dipstick and actually making sure its low? Can you tell if you are burning or leaking oil from anywhere (sights, smells)? When you hit vtec, do you notice smoke coming out of the exhaust?

Oil light is not to tell you that you are low on oil. It tells you are low on oil pressure.

Similar issue I'm dealing with but with blinking oil light but has to do with low oil pressure. Gonna check if its the switch or if not the pump then. It starts to flash about 5-10 minutes on the road. If shut off engine and turn on again, it immediately comes back on about a minute or so.

I did know its for pressure. and of course i checked the dipstick it was low. it dose burn oil when i hit vtech thats the only time it dose burn oil at least to my knowlage i dont smell it or see it burn. theres no external leaks at all ill check that sensor you say its right next to the oil filter? do you know what its called? is it just an oil pressure sensor? its really wierd i dont understand why it dose it was all good yesterday and it runs fine the light wont come on for a while then it just cuts on so bizare
