obd1 conversion

I want to tune my 98 sh with the hondata s300 but you need to be obd1 to flash the ecu from what i can tell. Will this conversion cause me to fail smog? Or is there a way to flash the ecu on obd 2?

Re: obd1 conversion

It'll be a lot easier to tune on OBD1.

I just got a P28 ecu for my Hondata S300.
The only thing you'll need is a OBD2a to OBD1 conversion harness.

Re: obd1 conversion

Also, I think emissions will be fine as long as you have your catalytic converter.

Depending on what state hes in, and how they test, no he will not pass smog. For instance, if he lives in california(or a state that follows cali smog regs) he will definitely not pass, or if his state is like washington, being that the car is OEM a obd2 vehicle; they just plug into the obd2 port and check emissions that way. in which case he would fail due to no communications through the port..

And honestly the greddy emanage would be your best bet. AS LONG AS you have a reputable tuner somewhere around you that is willing to tune it. Alot of them around me do not tune that.

SOOOOO with all that being said, i would find a reputable tuner near you, and speak to them about your options.. they should know the smog testing specifics near you; and how to if necessary get around them.

Re: obd1 conversion

The P28 doesnt have knock sensor functionality.
