Can't lock my driver door

Hey! new here. but i searched, and looked through the 5th gen resources and what not, cant find a solution..

my driver door will not lock, either manually from the inside or outside, or with the switch. when i use the switch there is a second click right after the initial lock noise (if that makes sense). and with the key it just doesnt move side to side at all. Anyone had this problem? i would love to be able to lock my door :D
any helps appreciated

Re: Can't lock my driver door

My fourth gen won't lock from the inside unless the inside door handle is fully open. May not work on fifth gens though...

Re: Can't lock my driver door

it sounds more of an internal part. I recommend removing the door panel and checking the source.

^This

Unfortunately the lock isn't directly connected with the tumblers inside of the key hole, so not being able to move the key back and forth inside the lock doesn't mean anything necessarily. The problem sounds to me like some kind of binding or sticking somewhere where the rod meets the hinge or box that controls your electric locks. I used to have a lot of diagrams but I lost them somewhere down the line.

Remove the door panel, it's the only way you'll know for sure. It could be as simple as a few squirts of WD40. Make sure that if you have electric locks you don't hit the box with the wd40 though, or it doesn't drip down inside.

I'm having a similar issue, what did you find when you opened your door up? were you able to fix it? thanks
