New Wheels! Yay Nay?

Just got some new wheels put on last Thursday. The rims I had laying around were some Enkei Klamps so I decided to throw those on since the stock Honda rims were really beat up. Overall I'm satisfied but I like to get opinions from the Prelude family. My mom doesn't like it to much but my dad does, a lot lol. Btw, the tires are Bridgestone Potenza's 205-45-17. I do have some rubbing issues when I crank my wheel all the way to one side, but it's nothing major that would cause serious damage.

On a side note: I had to replace my radiator over the weekend because my old radiator hose was so old and bad that when I applied barely any pressure on the hose, it just completely broke off. About $150 in total for the radiator on top of the $650 I spent last week on the tires.

Update: Before/After pic. Also, another pic just to show how bad my headlights are.

Next on my list are headlights, exhaust, sound system, and possibly full bodykit.

I'm planning on buying one soon. Just afraid of clearance because of the crappy roads where I live. But the very next thing on my list are projector headlights because mine are terrible right now. Barely see able at night. Although I do plan on getting rid of the plastic kit under the car for a real body kit sometime soon. Hopefully after I get my next car. :)

Looks good man, front lip would be nice like everyone stated.

And I'm not a big fan of those headlights. Keep it simple man.

Re: New Wheels! Yay Nay?

super clean lude man. im so jealous of your tint, utah tint law blows! the rims look good too, a before and after pic would help to compare them to the old ones although im sure they are much better. as far as projectors, save up for retros man you wont be sorry. just buy some new bulbs til then to get you buy, they are relatively cheap.

Re: New Wheels! Yay Nay?

I love the rims. And projectors are slick as hell. I got them with HIDs for my Civic just before I sold it to get my Prelude. They look awesome and they're way brighter as well.

Just remember that, in the end, it's your car and you are the one who gets to get in and drive it every day. Yup, I'm jealous. Mine is still stock.

Ha thanks man, appreciate it! Tint laws here are pretty lenient as long as you aren't doing anything stupid on the road. Ever since putting these wheels on, I've been taking it slower and punching it a lot less to attract less attention. It's also actually easier to see out of than my Tundra and GS300 at night. If I ever do see a cop (which is everyday), I tend to open my sunroof or just roll down my window to be safe :) My cousin did just get a ticked for tint on his C63 though lol

Re: New Wheels! Yay Nay?

The main problem with the body style of the fifth gen Prelude is that it looks so good from the factory, any major changes to the sides, front, or rear just make it look too busy. I agree with just a lip, as a body kit may be someone's style but they went out of style in 2004 and Preludes just don't look good with anything other than OEM body panels. It's one of those cars that you want to customize but in moderation, otherwise it usually ends up rather ugly. As for the headlights, get DEPO projectors or get your original (OEM) lights retrofitted with TSX or S2000 projector units, you won't regret it.

If the bodykit does happen, it'll most likely be the OEM kit. But we'll see how it goes because I may have to buy this Lexus ISF that I don't wanna pass up!
As for headlights, I may just bake my headlights and pry them open and buy an HID kit

Re: New Wheels! Yay Nay?

I would like to go lower but the roads near me are awful and any lower would damage the car. As for the wheel specs, I believe the rims are 17x7 or 7.5. Not sure because I've had them sitting for awhile and don't remember the specs. The tires are Bridgestone Potenza's 205-45-17. Spacers would also cause me to rub in the front. I already rub now when making a turn. I do kind of regret not getting thinner tires though.
