Tune-up time, need spark plugs/wires/distributor etc.

Right now I'm looking at NGK Iridium spark plugs and an NGK wiring set, but any suggestions as to where I should go for the distributor cap and rotor? I asked a friend and he said "pick anything that sounds Japanese."

Go with factory HONDA cap and rotor.

The factory spark plug wires are just as good as NGK, so i'd go with them as well - unless you just want a different color....

yes on the spark plugs.

I'm not worried about the color, just want good parts for a decent price. Does Honda sell them directly or is there somewhere I can order them from?

Re: Tune-up time, need spark plugs/wires/distributor etc.

Excellent! Thanks for the help guys. I purchased the distributor cap and rotor off Honda Parts Now. The factory plug wires were a bit more expensive than the NGK so I went with the NGK, saved about $15. Picked up 4 of the Iridium NGK plugs as well, total after shipping for everything was $123.70.

I appreciate it!

Stock stuff always works the best. The NGK iridiums are also key. I wouldn't run anything but them. I got my motor with bran new G-powers in it and instantly put the iridiums in anyway. NGK wires are just as good as stock if not better. I would've gone with a new distributor instead of cap and rotor though. Other than that you did decent for the money.

Re: Tune-up time, need spark plugs/wires/distributor etc.

I'm not entirely sure how much a new distributor would have been but my budget for this was about $165 total. I'm a tournament paintball player so I have a VERY limited amount of money to spend on the car. I'm not interested in cheaping out on anything per say, but I definitely will avoid the most expensive route simply because the funds aren't there.

With my next paycheck I'll be getting all of my tinting done. The driver's side snagged one day when I put it down and it's scrunched up completely at the bottom. The rear glass is bubbling pretty bad too, it makes it difficult to see out of. The last DIY tint job I attempted on my Sentra didn't turn out amazing, so I'm taking it to the company in town that does all of the tinting for the Honda dealership that's across the street from them.

Re: Tune-up time, need spark plugs/wires/distributor etc.

You should have gotten your wires at advanced auto parts thats what i did since its got a lifetime warranty which is alway great. and would have been alot more cheaper if you had bought the plugs to at a local autoparts.

Re: Tune-up time, need spark plugs/wires/distributor etc.

I thought about that too since they're doing that 20% off thing right now. I paid $47.98/shipped for the NGK wires, + $27.19 shipped for the plugs. Total was $75.17.

To get them from AAP, it would be $67.29 for the wires + $28.36 for the plugs putting me at $95.65. Take the 20% discount and I'm at $76.52. BUT since I'm buying them from a store in Florida there would be the 7% sales tax, so I'm adding in another 7%, making it $81.88 total to get them locally, even after ordering online with the discount and picking it up in-store.

Instead of driving all the way to AAP, I had them delivered to my doorstep for $6 cheaper and got the exact same stuff.
