Stock CD Changer ate my CD :)

Hey guys,

It would seem my stock CD Changer that came with the VTi-R just stopped working for no reason. Was playing a CD and the next minute silence...

Now I can't get the CD out ;)

Anyone have this problem before or know of a way I can short the unit to reset it. Perhaps this is all it will take to work again?

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Take care.

Wow.. i've never seen anyone smile when their cd player ate their cd

Try pressing the eject button while pushing the cd with another cd.. it might force it to come out.. did on my brother's IS300 (6 disc in dash) and it worked like a charm

Ah, I smile because there really isn't much I can do about the problem at this point - pointless getting upset ;)

I have a CD Shuttle at the back - so that trick can't work unfortunately. Any other ideas?

unhook your battery for about 10 mins.

Then try it.

I deal with broken changers all the time most of the time when they quit its because something jammed or broke my guess you will have to take it apart to get your cd's and its not worth fixing average fix cost i see is 125+ at that price go get a new radio with hd or satellite it could have jammed and you may be able to unjam it like a tray was misaligned or something but most people are not that lucky my 2cents

I hear you all - wont dc battery - as far as I know there are unlock codes i'd need to get certain devices to work again. I don't have these - bought the car 2nd hand from a dealer.

I will most probably just buy a new HU and upgrade sound in the process. Anyone use the JBL GTO series eq? If so what is your take on quality vs. Infinity Kappa series eq.

Ciao

1. Take the OEM deck out
2. Hit it with the biggest hammer you can find
3. Continue to repeat step (2) until you can get access to CD
