what is this plug for?

hi all, can any one confirm what this plug is for? I went to a shop to change o2 sensor today, found this plug next to the oil filter. its a 99 prelude sh, but the atts was token off, i am thinking it was for the atts because its right where the atts would have been.

Re: what is this plug for?

I think they answered the question. Now mine...why are you using a FRAM oil filter? Don't you know those things are crap and you might as well use a piece of cardboard?

Re: what is this plug for?

The Tough Guards are actually pretty decent, it's the Orange cans that are total crap.

Anyway, looks like an o2 connector, but I don't have a 5th gen so I'm not sure.

Re: what is this plug for?

pic below is where the 2 o2 sensor is connected now, unless one of them is not for o2 sensor, the other one must be for something else.

Re: what is this plug for?

Tough guard is just as bad. Fram filters are not good for Honda motors, period.

Re: what is this plug for?

Use ONLY Wix, Mobil, K&N, or Hamp (or OEM) oil filters on a Honda, from what I've learned. I Use only Wix personally, and Castrol or AmSoil.

That definitely looks like an O2 sensor plug, but that plug is nowhere to be found on my 99. Knock Sensor maybe?

Re: what is this plug for?

can we focus on the connector and not the filter please...i went to shop to change o2 sensor because i am throwing p1033, which is primary o2 sensor, and another code for the cat converter, i dont remember what the code for the cat converter was, but it was cheaper to change the o2 sensor, so i tried it first. if that empty plug is a o2 sensor, then which o2 sensor is plug in wrong?

I'm not sure about obd2 systems and emissions but I'm pretty sure you have a pre and post cat o2 and one more somewhere? I may be wrong.

Re: what is this plug for?

ya, that's the next item on my check list. i know the valve cover gasket, cam seal and the vtec solenoid valve is leaking a bit and maybe the oil pan too, i'll try to find all the gasket and replace them all at the same time.
