good buy or not?

97 Honda Prelude

changed timing belt 100k and 200k
bone stock
clean and clear title
firm at 3500
226k too high? or not?
he is the second owner

doesn't hurt to test drive it! I've seen some 200k mileage cars run better than 80k mileage cars depending on how well it was taken care of... and leather is pretty rare if it's authentic.

you can probably squeeze it down to 3k-3.2k

It's all about what you want man, if 226k is pretty high but **** my daily 00 Accord just hit 203k an still runs like a beaut, so ya never know unless you check it out !

I bought my lude with 207k and it runs better all the way around then my moms mazada 6 that has 176k
Test drive it & theres a good chance it will run as if it has only 100k on the dial!

Mileage is nothing, along as the car looks the part and has gotten the tlc it deserves you should be good, most people don't realize these engine are easier to build than legos

Here are some of my suggestions to check for CV boots, tie rod boots, struts, engine tranny mounts, Oil leaks, engine noises and keep in mind these engines can be noisy if valves have not been adjusted, and get a good look at the tires as they may tell you if there are any problems with suspension/alignment. With a car with 200k+ miles sensors may become a problem and one last thing is get a good look at the crank pulley at idle these things tend to get a little wobbly.
