Icon5 Vacuum hose not where its suppose to be

Ive had my '99 Prelude for quite sometime now, rebuilding it piece by piece because the original owner totaled it. The second owner tried to rebuild it but judging by his work done to the car, he should just put down the wrench and step away from working on another car. But the car had a strong heart with great low miles. Anyway, working on the car, i notice a vacuum hose not where its suppose to be. I took a few pictures and i tried to point out which hose im referring to by using my extendable magnetic pick up. What i found to be very humorous and creative is that the hose, instead of just leaving it there causing a leak, runs right under the battery and comes out the other side right next to the cold air intake. By the way, for those who have noticed, i know the intake filter case is cracked; I have an AEM coming in, so for now cracked case it is. So on other 5th gens out there, where does that vacuum hose connect to? From the battery, the hose ends up just hanging there in the wheel well.

Re: Vacuum hose not where its suppose to be

Intake resonator - looks like yours has been removed.

When you get your new intake - trace the line out and cap it off at the intake manifold.

I'm going to take a guess and say if you follow it, you will find it as one of the 3 hoses next to the throttle body.

Well turns out that its the Intake Control Diaphragm. I was able to find a diagram and that Diaphragm was definitely long forgotten when the owner before me had replaced the radiator support. Im just going to cap it like you had mentioned along with the removal of the cruise control i no longer need. Thanks for your suggestion though.

Re: Vacuum hose not where its suppose to be

to find vacuum lines and where they're supposed to go. The one you showed in the picture has the number 8 on it. Look under the hood, it has vacuum diagrams with each line labeled with a number :) helps a lot.
