Body and "honda rust" question

First off let me just say thank you to those of you who have helped me out already since I'm new to forum and this car..... Wanted a 5th gen ever since they came out and found a pretty good deal on one or so I thought on ebay last week so I picked it up.... $2000 for a 2000 with 160 k on original motor and everything stock.... so my question is I'm trying to slowly build this thing up to a good level both outside and under the hood only problem is living its whole life here in Michigan it has a slight case of what I have seen referred to as "honda rust " right in the rear wheel wells, how much time and money am I looking at in a body shop to have this corrected or is it even worth it and just skip to the fun stuff that makes this thing faster turn sharper and stop on a dime?

Re: Body and "honda rust" question

I've heard its typically $350-400 per side.

but can be cheaper if you dont need it repainted, or do a bit of prep work yourself like grinding/sanding off some of the rust off yourself, then the shop can cut off whatever else and weld on new metal.

...and what I mean by 'not needing it repainted' is if youre like me and youre planning to prep the car for new paint anyways.
