Underdrive pulley Question

ok so here is my problem My crank pulley started to wobble a little and the vibration could be felt at idle so I decided to replace the crank pulley with a OBX underdrive pulley which was fairly cheap but the problem I am running into is the grooves for the belt are slightly slimmer width wise I did get a belt that was smaller but what should I do about the width just try to match one up or go with a different pulley. I did make use of my old belt by cutting a groove off and the belt fits fine and the pulley works perfectly I just dont want to be driving on a modified belt any suggestions.

Re: Underdrive pulley Question

you can go to any auto parts store, they should have the correct width belt for you... if not, go back to the stock pulley. IMO i would go back to the stock pulley. i've heard of people having problems with aftermarket pulleys because they're not balanced properly or something...

Re: Underdrive pulley Question

Just go to the auto parts store and get a smaller belt with one less groove, real easy. Just take your old one.

Re: Underdrive pulley Question

The OBX has 5 grooves? The underdrive pulley i have on my 5G (some kind of generic copy) uses the same 4 & 6 groove belts, just at a different length.

Re: Underdrive pulley Question

I have the unorthodox crank pulley. I have not one bad thing to say about it. I didn't bother getting the other pulleys, they're not worth it IMO
