5th Gen Prelude Fog Light Wiring Question

I have a 2000 Honda Prelude with JDM ebay style lights. I have them wired up with HID for a while now, the problem is i want them to turn on with my car but not blink when i open the doors. When i auto start my car they turn on with DRL but blink when i unlock and i believe that's the reason my ballasts are going bad. Does anyone know where to wire it in this way will be greatly appropriated
Thanks

Yeah, constant on/off of the ballasts will shorten their lifespan.

I suggest a cutoff switch inside, so you can turn them off when you're not using them.

Or completely re-wire them with a separate feed straight from the battery to a relay that receives it's control voltage from your headlight switch. That way you will only have the fogs on when you turn on your headlights.

Re: 5th Gen Prelude Fog Light Wiring Question

I read that others run a separate relay, just like wing8806 suggested, just for the HID. That way, the fog light relay wont burn out

if you have the fogs on HIDs, they only turn on with the headlights? the fog switch becomes obsolete now?

The fogs will only blink on/off if you have your fog light switch press in, just manually press fog light switch before you exit.
