RPM question

Hey everyone, new to ludes and this forum. I have always had a Honda but just bought my first 1997 prelude this past week. My question is about the RPM's I feel they are higher then they should be. I was going 80 MPH last night and the RPM was at 4k. I don't remember my civics or accords being that high. I could be wrong! I'm guessing that because redline is higher on the prelude is why it seems high but i really don't know. If any of you have any imput or just think I'm dumb please let me know. Lol Thanks

Re: RPM question

Its normal. I owned two vtec accords and because they were SOHC and lower compression vtec kicked in lower and rpm's ran lower throughout.
H22's destroy those motors in performance so enjoy it!

Perfectly normal. When I first got my car I thought that was sort of high, but then I found out its just normal.

Get a different final drive gear, or swap in a 5th gear from an f22 tranny. I'd love to put in a different 5th gear and keep 1st-4th just as aggressive as they are, but my knowledge is crap when it comes to working on transmissions.

Re: RPM question

Final drives are pretty expensive so I'd think a gear from another tranny would be more practical. I've only ever seen it common with B-series, as with everything.
