Engine power loss

ok so I have had my 5th Gen for about a month and have noticed a few strange issues so I searched here and im not sure if its 1 problem or multiple. First problem was the cold idle was bouncy so I cleaned the IAC the screens were dirty. Second problem was on a warm day i would go to start my car and for the first try or so it would just die then just start magically on the days it would start on the first try i would get down the street and it would die while driving.
Today as usual same problem it was warm but car started to have low power until around 3000rpm then it would pick up and now on the way home it is hesitating erratically any ideas guys will be appreciated.

Re: Engine power loss

Possibly the ignitor in the dizzy. My 94 integra did that and I had to replace the ignitor inside the dizzy.

and remember most autozone checks it for free...also while your at it you may want to get the ignition coil checked

Re: Engine power loss

ok so I have had some time to check a few things and the dizzy is good im getting spark at all 4 cylinders plugs and wires have been changed with NGK and the Idle issue has been fixed so my next question is where do I go from here? My Issue now is the intermittent power loss mostly when it is warm outside I ordered a good fuel pressure test kit through my tool truck to check if I have a clog somewhere also got a vacuum test gauge. Any problems with sensors should have kicked a CEL on right but I have no CEL on at any time not even when it is acting up. sorry to rant any help would be nice.

Re: Engine power loss

Is the idle still bouncing? does it feel real jerky in 1st gear? If so you have to fix that idle problem and it will go away. possible causes include: Bad I.A.C valve (even though you cleaned it-90% of the time cleaning it doesn't do sh*t and it needs to be replaced) Bad or unadjusted Fast Idle Thermo Valve or F.I.T.Valve, air in the cooing system, vacuum leak, dirty throttle body, Intake manifold gasket, TB gasket, dirty EGR valve.

Re: Engine power loss

I fixed the idle issue it doesnt bounce or fluctuate anymore the problem happens in all gears it almost feels like when vtec kicks in and it does it between 3-4000 RPM but sometimes the power never picks up and it feels slugish I adjusted the FIT valve and cleaned the IAC and performed a coolant flush at work yesterday and did the proper bleeding proceedure

Re: Engine power loss

Ok so the power loss is gone and the random shut off is back I was driving today about 45mph and the car shut off green key light started to flash it also happened while at idle and the car in neutral there is no hesitation or other weird problems before it does it. Now the weird thing is it takes two tries to start it back up EVERY TIME exactly 2 the first two trys sounds like its out of gas the fuel pump works so im not sure.

Re: Engine power loss

have you checked the main relay under the dash? could be cracked solder joints...

there's also an ignition switch recall, maybe call honda and give em your vin to see if it's been replaced yet.

Re: Engine power loss

So I called the dealership and they said the recall procedure has already been done so I removed the steering column to check the wiring and ignition and decided to do a test so I wiggled the wires while my engine was running and it shut off so should I just replace the ignition switch?

Re: Engine power loss

i would first make sure the wire isnt a loose connection and if one is then its probably "i think" either the

black/yellow(ignition wire)
solid white (12 volts)
yellow (accessory)

Re: Engine power loss

yea the connection at the harness is solid I pulled the ign switch off to check and I am thinking it is in the switch because sometimes I can wiggle the wires and nothing happens but if I tap on the switch itself then it becomes sensitive again
