Re: about to buy this lude, what do you guys think?

with that mileage, if it hasn't had the timing belt/ tensioner/ waterpump service, you'll need to have it done. The honda dealership usually charges around $1500 for this.

if there is no rust, leaks and if the timing service has been done....... I'd say it's a pretty good deal

Re: about to buy this lude, what do you guys think?

Thats a steal if you can get more info on it.
Does it need a timing belt?
New Tires?
Does it need a Tune Up?
When was the last Oil Change?
Does it Overheat?
Does it leak any Fluids?
And try to see if you can get the Car plus the stock Headlights, Tail lamps since those can fetch for good penny with the right buyer.

Re: about to buy this lude, what do you guys think?

there are a few things i like to look for when buying used. first, a car fax report, copy down the vin number definitely worth the money. if he gives you a hard time its a red flag. Make sure you take a flashlight and look inside the engine for wet spots. These are the hard to reach spots. For that mileage she might be burning oil. One of the tricks to confirming this is to feel the inside of the exhaust/tail pipe with your fingers. if it feels oily, she is burning oil. when you check the oil dipstick smell it, if it smells burnt, again another indication she is going through oil. On a test drive make sure you take it somewhere where you can get up to 60 or 70 mph. At this speed you will notice unusal vibrations in the steering wheel or non normal noise in general. most people do not take cars on a test drive at that speed. within city limits, go on a straight even road that has no traffic, get up to about 35mph, let go of the steering wheel and slam on the brakes pretty hard. if the car pulls to the left or the right, it is out of alignment or worse. hope this helps, good luck.

Re: about to buy this lude, what do you guys think?

thanks great advice guys!

im going to look at it tuesday morning im bringing a check list of things to inspect, and of course its a 5 speed

but it has had the timing belt done.
he claims it has regular oil changes.
it has new tires.

but it does need a tune up like spark plugs and manual transmission fluid.

Re: about to buy this lude, what do you guys think?

If all it needs is spark plugs and wires, then you're looking at a pretty good deal IMO...

Test drive will give you a good gut check though.
