hello everyone
just bought a 97 prelude sh automatic i know automatic wasnt my first choice but the car was so clean i couldnt pass it up. But anyways the cars silver and bone stock so its going to be my fresh canvas that i plan to document and hopefully become something similar to a piece of art when done. So now that intros are out of the way i want to know in what should i do first. im going to focus on performance first just because my car before this was a ford taurus so the prelude already looks 10000000000 times better than what im used to. I eventually want it to be turboed but thats going to be the final piece to the motor so i was wondering what steps i should take to build up to my final goal. Also was wondering how much power the auto tranny can handle. And i will take pic as soon as i pick the car up gotta wait to make final payment after tax return comes in :)

Welcome. im new too and i got the auto/tip and im doing a 5 speed swap before any major performance work. Without the swap u would b pretty limited on performance options

Welcome! and yes SH's were all 5 speeds
so yours most likely is a base. What makes
you think its an SH besides spoiler and rims?

As far as what to do first....Im in the same boat
with my 98 auto base and daily driver. Need reliability!
I went through many DIY threads and found a whole
bunch to keep myself busy.

Re: newbie wants to say hello and ask what to first

welcome!
it depends what your budget is for everything that you want to do. but like everyone on here will tell you, you should definitley make room for a manual swap early on your to do list. otherwise you will be limited with what you can do.

Re: newbie wants to say hello and ask what to first

SH's only came in 5 speeds. Look at your vin number.. And if the 8th number is a 5 it's an SH, if it's a 4 it's a base. Welcome to the site mayne!!
