ONE MORE THING SORRY

I got an oil change on janurary 5th. Its been 26 days and my dipstick is completly dry.
The catch is. I have no leaks anywhere. And no sign of excess oil burning because i dont smell anything.

No oil light either.
My brother suggested that the oil guy didnt put enough oil. Anyone think they know whats wrong?

Re: ONE MORE THING SORRY

possibly not enough oil. no harm in adding some - worst comes to worst and you need to drain it - then drain it.

just add half a bottle of oil at a time...

h22's are known of "eating" little bit of oil... smart to check oil levels every month

Is the motor original or has there been new pistons put in or machine work on the sleeves?

Re: ONE MORE THING SORRY

If this is a first time thing just put oil in and check it in another month and see if it's dry again. And why not just DIY?

Maybe also due to alot of cold starts ? that could contribute..
what are the specs of the oil you are running ? and you are positive you have no leaks ? mine doesnt show many signs of leaking, but when i reverse on wet ground, i can see the little rainbow rings from small droplets every meter or so.
I havent been losing much oil since i switched to

The guy at the parts store said it will "swell" my seals a little bit because it is not such a "detergent oil".
It has worked great for me since and its been about a month with almost no oil loss, and i got 308,000 km on my monster
Whats your mileage like ?

keep in mind a leak may not appear under your car, u could be constantly burning it off an engine surface every time u drive, check under your egr where oil can pool on top of the tranny housing, or for radiator hoses with fresh oily gunk on them, some of these leaks can be hard to spot, and u have to get creative, could be as simple as a distributor o ring. look for tiny rivers of oil around your engine after youve driven for a bit. I found mine when i least expected to.
