spun bearing on the h22a4

hey guys im so stressed right now. I spun a bearing on the highway and now my car is making this loud knocking noise. I heard the best thing to do is either rebuild or buy a new one.I have a couple of questions though. First off, what is not destroyed in the car and what is. I know a spun bearing is about the worst thing that can happen to your engine. also i am going to begin to rebuild my engine where should i start first.I am not mechanically inlclined but now i will have to learn because i dont have $2000 to pay for a rebuild so my friend and i ( he is mechanically inclined) will be tackling this problem on our own.

Re: spun bearing on the h22a4

BEST case scenario... you just need a new bearing...

Worst case scenario.... you need bearings, a crank, a rod, and align hone the journals. You won't really know until you have everything disassembled and measured everything.

Re: spun bearing on the h22a4

No need for special tools. 10, 12, 13, 14, 17, 19 mm sockets and wrenches are your best friend.
