DDM hid questions for the gurus..

Hey all, I'm pickin up a set of DDM hids for the Lude this week--I'm just curious if anyone who has already used them has a preference for the Raptor or the Slim kit. Also, what accessories should I purchase with the kit? Harness, etc.

Re: DDM hid questions for the gurus..

I currently have DDM's HID kit, and they have yet to go out or short on me. I've had them for almost a year. I also went with the slim ballast kit. I read reviews on the raptors that they were going out on the customers. I mean it wasn't everyone who purchased them, just a handful, but I didn't want to take a chance, so I purchased the slim kit instead. I still think they're good for the price.
EDIT: When I purchased the kit, I only bought the kit.

Re: DDM hid questions for the gurus..

I have owned a couple sets. They are great. Just buy the kit alone if your buying the 35w kit. I bought the 55w kit and I found out that it works better with a wiring harness. All the kits i bought are the slim ballast because there's already no room in the engine bay. They work GREAT HAD MY KIT FOR A YEAR NOW NO ISSUES. Oo I should add that if you want a certain color like blue for example you wont get that bluish from the 55w 8000k you would have to get 10000k because the 55w wash the color out. I'm running a 55w 8000k and a 35w 10000k.

Re: DDM hid questions for the gurus..

Gee i wonder why i didnt do a google search myself? Or look on ebay? Before asking if you had a link? Maybe because i know some kits are better than others and some are just jjunk.

If you qre running a particular kit and you are happy with it would u kind posting a link? Nothing worse than a smart arse when your asking for advice.

Oh and for the record....thus is not my first modded car ir my first experiance with fourms. i did the search and i did look at the kits on ebay for 35.00 with free shipping.

Re: DDM hid questions for the gurus..

i have the non-slim raptor 35w 6000k 's
i was expecting them to be a big brighter... but they are better than the stock lights for sure

but it was a bitch installing it though..
had to bend the metal bar thingys that hold the bulbs in place
i thought it would be easy plug and playy... haha but it wasnt really a big deal though

So do I need two kits, one for low and one for high?

And the kits from DDm, how many bulbs comes with one kit?
