Buying an Exhaust, what to get?

Hey everyone, i have a 2001 prelude base model and was looking to buy DC Sport 4-2-1 headers. a buddy of mine said that they'll change the exhaust sound alot so i dont wanna spend a ton of money for an ehaust just to have it sound bad so i was looking for ideas on what to get. Any thoughts?

Re: Buying an Exhaust, what to get?

Dc headers are basically an OEM replacement, id save the money on that. What is your price range for exhaust?

Re: Buying an Exhaust, what to get?

The main point of everything is i want the headers to look good and get something out of em, didnt know what brand to go if any at all. I planned on getting the AEM v2 intake and possibly the apexi ws2 exhaust. Price range is anything that sounds great and looks good (no giant soup cans)

Re: Buying an Exhaust, what to get?

The V2 Intake and Apexi WS2 Cat Back are great choices the route i would have went as well. Though all of it is going to run close to $1000 to $1100.

Re: Buying an Exhaust, what to get?

AEM v2 is pretty much downgrade, since it sucks warm air into your engine. just get some ebay CAI-pipe and good filter (aem, injen, fujita)

vibrant may be other header choice, its little bit more expensive than those replikas, but its much easier to install - no need to notch anything and it has already flexpipe, I just needed to weld few inches of pipe there to cat. and it has similiar power gains than that hy-replika

Re: Buying an Exhaust, what to get?

spending alot of money on an intake is just stupid. $10 ebay intake, bigger throttle body and a new intake manifold would be better. as for header dont get DC because they get rust over time. everything else listen to able

Re: Buying an Exhaust, what to get?

Just got my exhaust installed a couple weeks ago.. i have stock a header and a SR intake. And got custom 2.5 inch piping with a 18 inch vibrant resonator and vibrant flat black muffler. Honestly it souncds better then any prelude on youtube ! And the exhaust setup costed me 270$ for everything installed
