Icon8 Headlight Wiring issues?

I have searched and searched for a possible answer to this dilemma, with no results.

I purchased my first 'Lude, a '99, a week and a half ago. The previous owner had cited that the driver's side low beam headlight didn't function, despite installing new bulbs, on several occasions. I re-installed the headlight and noticed that it did come on, but only in low-beam mode. That would be fine if it weren't for the fact that both the high and low beams come on simultaneously, and both quite dim. Only the driver's side does this, the passenger's side works flawlessly. I am not sure if this is a common problem. This is also preventing me from installing the HIDs I just received from DDM Tuning, as the voltage/amperage is not high enough on the low beam lead to power up the ballast and allow it to strike.

Also, when the high beams are triggered, both lights go out on the driver's side while the passenger side still works flawlessly. I am thinking of soldering/heat-shrinking up a relay harness triggered off the passenger's side to power up the driver's side, but I would like to prevent that if possible.

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. I can't see much yet, I just installed my Depo black-housing headlights and have yet to re-aim them.

Re: Headlight Wiring issues?

Check your relay for starters.

Also check the grounds around that headlight and the wires for any damages. I've had an issue where one of my wires was coming out of the harness and caused my lights to flicker/ be dimmer.

see if you can check the splices in the harness. there might be a bad connection in one of them somewhere. and ya, as above, make sure your grounds are all in order.

Re: Headlight Wiring issues?

I've checked the ground, I've checked the wiring, and I've checked plugs. A neighbor told me it grounds through the high beam...??? But according to Mitchell On Demand It doesn't. I'm lost and I'm about to make my own harness for it.
