hey guy so im not so good at this ima new be......already lets get do to the problem i finshed my 5th gen swap to h23q jap/eur it a jap tranny..first i have kinda of a rough idle its not to bad but it goes up to 2000 rpm and drops down to about 1200 and it just reves up and dow constantly and so time is stop???? is it my idle control thats bad? im running a stock auto h22a1 ecu i have the p28 but havent time to chip it and i aslo have the jumper harnees 0bd2 to obd1 and having alil tranny problem its not bad just sometimes it hard to get into gear.... and when i change the ecu will that fix my immbolizer??or my idle problem? pease some one help im really next at this thanks.......

immobilizer is in the ecu so changing ecu deletes it

wrong ecu there?

Did you bleed the antifreeze? I would check this first before you try to diagnose any other electrical or mechanical part.

Just as BloodRiot said, bleed your anti freeze.

Also, check that your rad cap is sealing/functioning properly, and check that your coolant hoses don't have holes, especially the one leading from the radiator to overflow reservoir

As for getting it into gear... Check that u got enough tranny fluid, do this when ur car is perfectly level, also check it shift cables

Thanks guy will try it out and for some reason my car doesnt have a resivor and my engine does get a little hot will try those thing and will get back to u thanks for the help

Also I'm have a really strong gas smell would it be exaust with a hole or bad cat?

I would definitely, and immediately stop running it on your old ecu.. Get that p28 chipped with a base map..

As well as check what the others already stated.
