Grinding sound

Hi, I have a 98 automatic that i bought a couple months ago. Recently there has been a grinding sound coming from the engine when I'm accelerating slowly. It normally happens at around 2-3k rpm and only when I'm barely pressing the gas, I can feel the gas pedal shaking a bit when it does this. If i let off the gas or push past the point where it grinds then it's fine.

Has anyone else had this problem or know what's going on?

Would changing the transmission fluid help?

Any help would be appreciated,
