More stuff to install!!!

I just got some goodies for the Lude... Megan 4-2-1 header, resonated test pipe, and cleaned up the 70mm S2 tb. I'm finishing my port job while the tb is off. I know, I know its not a Hytech replica but I think it will give me a mild increase in midrange power. I'm pairing the header/test pipe setup with the Thermal CL exhaust, it should be here by next week. I'll post pics of the install.

While I have the intake manifold off I'm gonna strip it and powdercoat it black to give some contrast from the tb and the red valve cover. I may do a diy for the port match if you guys want me to.

Header, downpipe, test pipe, and tb

The project... lookin better every week; this pic was prior to the fogs and the type s rear spoiler going on though

sounds pretty awesome man! have to say i'm a little jealous... you should post that diy that you were talking about for sure. and do you have to use a heat shield or exhaust wrap for stainless steel headers? i i tried wrapping my stock header but it still needs the heat shield on cause it gets to hot under the hood.

You know that header is just a shiny stock replacement right? You'll be lucky to not see any changes, let alone minimal gains. It's based off the DC design (Same as the cheap eBay brands which is based off the stock header) and being that it's not even as good of quality as stock, they are known to cause loses in power. You won't feel it but any changes either way, you won't feel, so just beware.

I think with my setup itll be just fine if I need to go Hytech later I will. I'm not sure if I'm gonna wrap it or not... I guess we'll see how it goes. I will post the diy of the port job as it goes, planning on pulling everything out once the exhaust gets here. The Thermal is coming from a buddy of mine in Georgia who bought it for his SH and never installed.

After I get the exhaust setup finished ill be installing the rear lip and slamming it... thinkin about F&F's or Teins... but one thing at a time. lol

More pics from today:

well, I feel that the car works much smoother in low rpm's with dc header and high flow cat

so kinda overkill there

"On a 4cyl engine only one of the 4 intake runners is demanding air at any time. If you were to compare the diameter of the stock throttle body to the diameter of one of the intake runners, I think you would conclude that the stock throttle body is not restrictive and installing a larger one will not give you a boost in power and will have a negative effect on throttle response. I find under some atmospheric conditions, when accelerating prior to the 4800rpm vtec change over point you can get more acceleration by holding the throttle open only about 4/5 of the way until you cross the vtec change over rpm point. This is because a smaller throttle opening at lower and mid rpms acts to help speed up the air flow resulting in a faster build up of engine torque. The air valve at the input of the air filter element on the stock air intake performs the same function of acting to speed up the air flow at lower and mid rpms by closing off one of the two air input passages at lower engine rpms. When it comes to throttle bodies, bigger is not always better. "

Have the same header without the test pipe though. It's ok nothing special but bling. If I had to get one now I would get hytech or bisimoto

Maybe because its dyno proven? Its the best bang for the buck for the H22, no question about it.
