Noticed a slight surge in CC.....

So while driving the other day I had to cross a 24 mile bridge. I set the cruise control and hit set. I noticed a minor surge in the throttle then a gradual decline till it settled where I set it. Is this normal or perhaps the signs of something going out? Is there anything I need to look at before I use it again?

My young Yoda...it's called the force!

Setting your CC to a certain speed on flat surface isnt the same setting that speed n climbing an incline!! When I was AUTo and had my CC set to like 75 that when the highway would have a slight incline that there was a slight surge and then you hear the motor revv more to match that requested speed you desired. Trust me. That's normal!!

Re: Noticed a slight surge in CC.....

I know it speeds up and slows down on incline and decline but thats not what im talking about. I get that its just keeping the speed i set it at.

No Im referring to a flat road. In New Orleans its about as flat as it gets. The bridge is flat for 24 miles. It cross Lake Pontchartrain.

Im referring to holding my foot still, hitting the switch at 65. It surges to about 67 then settles back down to 65 in about 2-3 sec.

Re: Noticed a slight surge in CC.....

Flat roads suck with cruise. some cars are just more noticeable when the system is trying to maintain a constant speed.
