Is this head gasket good quality??

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Hey all,
I'm at the point in my project (H23 vtec frank) where i need to pick a head gasket. I know that i need one for an H22a or H22a1. This one up on ebay claims its for H22a, a1 and h23 vtec. I'm just curious if anybody has ran a copper coated gasket? Also has anybody heard of this company? I know ebay has some shady stuff. I have had good luck in the past with buying parts for my prelude and other cars that I have owned. On ebay as well there are Cometic gaskets for just a little bit more money. I know that is a great brand. Does anybody run a Cometic? Any input would be very helpful. Thanx PZ

Not pointed at you or anything, just making a general comment.

OEM if you are standard bore, cometic if over the service limit.

I lightly use copper spray on my headgaskets but I do not use no name parts.
Thanks for the response. I dont use no name parts either. I was curious about the gasket because of the copper coating. What is the purpose that you use a copper spray on the head gasket? When i was searching about it, people have there own strong opinions on why to use or not to use it. Do you use Permatex?? The bore on my short block is still factory so I guess i'll just order one from Majestic Honda.

One of the things why people used copper is actually the fact that they aren't as thick as the aluminium gaskets, but the old ones that came out the engine was much flatter than the one your showing (looks like the exact same gaskets).

Re: Is this head gasket good quality??

I recommend going with the OEM gasket (3 layer steel). I would not do a cometic unless you wanted higher compression from the thinner gasket.
