brake line & fitting sizes

I'm currently trying to gather parts for ABS delete and have a couple questions. Can someone confirm the size of brake tubing? I've read that it is 3/16. Also, What size fittings will I need? IIRC the ABS master cylinder has 2 different sizes coming out of it. Lastly, I know that I will need a new prop valve. Will any 40/40 Honda/Acura prop valve work? Any specific model/year recomendations? I'd prefer to use a non-ABS Prelude prop valve if i can, only because I can find those pretty easy around my area.

by the way, this would be for a '99 SH

Thanks for any help

Re: brake line & fitting sizes

sh or base, it'll be the same process.

I believe the prop valve is off an integra - but cannot remember which year exactly...

I also think there is a writeup on abs removal - check the DIY section ...i'm going to sleep

Re: brake line & fitting sizes

Thanks man, I've looked in the DIY and even googled. I guess my main concern is the fittings, which has been the hardest for me to find. I just want to make sure I have all the pieces before I start. The lines are 3/16 right?

Oh my, those are two great sites. The AN fittings would look pretty b*tchin, I'll have to look into those more closely. Thanks og!

Re: brake line & fitting sizes

I just watched some of their Tech videos and it seems a lot easier than double flaring every line. The braided lines are really nice as well. I probably won't get to be doing this for a couple months, but at least I have time to research and collect pieces, it definately won't be cheap.

Re: brake line & fitting sizes

alright, so after a little research I found that our stock line outside diameter is 3/16", which would be equivalent to a size 3 AN. is this correct? would it be possible to use a size 4 (1/4")? I would want to go larger because the variety of AN fittings seem to only be size 4 and up.

Re: brake line & fitting sizes

Alright, nevermind the prior post, figured it out. new question though, i know I'm going to need adapters, is the thread size 10X1.5? I know that thread pattern is common on other areas of the Prelude. Also, I do not own any calipers, so can someone tell me the outside diameter of the AC lines? I'll probably just replace those as well. thanks
