Do people think it's fun to type like this? Does it make them cool or "gangsta"? I just don't get it at all. It seems kind of like 1337 5p34k for exclusive moron-oriented groups. I can't even comprehend why someone would type "wus" instead of "was". You don't save any keystrokes or time, you only achieve retarded asshole status.

Asking for help in this manner is like begging for change, but only nickels and dimes from 1983 or earlier.

Re: I need major help with my auto to manual swap

Did you put spacers in between the the clutch pedal assembly and the firewall on the inside?? It is very important that you do this when you do the swap. If you do not put the spacers in, when the clutch is warmed up it will not engage properly. You need at least a good 3/4inch spacer. I used some nuts I had as spacers when I did mine.

Re: I need major help with my auto to manual swap

I read up on it a lot before I did my swap because I was doing it solo in my driveway, I would have never thought of it, or ever done it myself, if I did not read that people were having the same exact problem you are talking about once it warms up if they did not put the spacers in. I will try and find what I saw so you can see what I'm talking about, they explain it a lot better.

Re: I need major help with my auto to manual swap

I also found this on RomPirate’s 5spd Swap Resource Thread - Honda Prelude Forum : Honda Prelude Forums

Why Do You Need Spacers in between the clutch pedal??

short and easy answer: Or else your clutch wont fully engage, and it'll slip. But why? Lets see this drawing I made:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...eedspacers.jpg

If there are no spacers, the rod on the master cylinder will never fully extend out. This means that it'll be "slightly pushed in" even when your pedal is all the way out. Most master cylinders (OEM and after market) dont have enough threads to simply screw the rod out more. Even then you wont have enough space with the clutch pedal arm preventing the rod from further being extended. A possible solution is to TAP the clutch arm, and cut the unused master cylinder rod portion (or whatever length is keeping you from fully extending. Just do it right the first time. Build some sort of spacer or a metal plate which will space and brace at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Unless you can adjust your freeplay enough so that the clutch is not perpetually disengaged.. No.

play around with locknut B and adjust it so the rod is not so far inside the master cylinder...

Re: I need major help with my auto to manual swap

Its really easy bro.. I adjusted my freeplay 3 times till i got rid of bearing chatter..
You can feel when the master cylinder pushrod is about to make contact with its piston.. Get it to that point, and back it out just a tad more to compensate for heat expansion, and u should be good in that department..

Re: I need major help with my auto to manual swap

If I'm not there or I dont have a pic to work from or more info, I cant tell u yet.
But it sounds like the rod isnt traveling enough.
The more u tighten the rod into the bracket at lock nut B, the more travel u will have, and the higher the pedal will come up.

Yes man on a fifth gen! Stop dickin around and just adjust the rod the best you can and see if you can get it to work that way (it prob wont, but you may get lucky) if not, go and throw some spacers between the pedal assembly & firewall and your problem will be fixed and you will be rollin.

spacers and adjust where the clutch grabs on that rod.. also did u drill a bolt to hold the top of the pedal? if not your pedal will break at some point and it will be all the way down.
