Prelude Mods

just bought my 1999 honda prelude, wondering what kind of mods i can do for reasonably cheap and easy, preferably under $200 but i can go higher if needed for something really cool, $500 is my cap though. I dont need anything performance related unless it improves fuel economy.

Re: Prelude Mods

Cheap is usually not the way to go, but there are plenty of valuable mods you can do to make your car better. It also depends on what kinds of mods. Interior, Exterior, Audio, Engine, Brakes. I would make a list of things that may be in bad shape on your Lude; start there and im sure you will have a list longer than the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

EDIT: miss read this....

but overall, start with maintenance items so that you know you have a good base for mods later

Re: Prelude Mods

deff start with a tune up of some kind
i would also recommend a sea foam treatment through the vac line, blows out madd carbon build up.

then slowly figure out where u wanna attack first.
if its an auto save up for a swap
if u want to keep it an auto DONT DO A TRANNY FLUSH ! jus get honda atf fluid, drain an replace.

audio
body work
suspension

with such a tight budget u would have to put priority to certain things an put off some others

Re: Prelude Mods

Use the search feature of the forum. There are plenty rides in the "member's rides" section, and see what YOU want to do. Sure, I could tell you plenty of things to do, but it's going to be my opinion of what I want to see done to a prelude. You've got to do YOU. Cheap is not usually the way to go, because if cheap is your motto, you end up being best friends with the guy at Pepboys, if you catch my drift. Also, introduce yourself in the New Member's section and post up some pictures of your ride in that thread!

Re: Prelude Mods

Welcome, what they said and blah blah blah.

A little background info on yourself would also be helpful in regards of your mechanical prowess. 300.00 isn't a decent tune up. DIY maybe? Get a obd2 scan (from pep boys or autozone) and see what it tells you. Work from there.
