prelude engine question

I have a 5th gen with a swapped H22A engine. I'm wondering what exact year the engine is...any ideas?

I've been told that its a 4th gen Japanese H22A. Cuz when i was calling a friend to help me look for a oil pan gasket for my engine, he looked up 5th gen and there was no head gasket. But when I opened up the oil pan, there was indeed a gasket. I need to buy the distributor so I need to know the exact engine! thanks!

Did i say anything to confuse you?? :s maybe im just burning out and i typed a whole bunch of bull****?

anyway... maybe i should rephrase my question.. i need to know what year engine i have. i know its a 4th gen H22A. but would there be anyway to tell what exact year so i can buy a distributor that is made exactly for the year and type of engine. I'm not looking for just any regular distributor as my car is turbo'd and was recommended by a race shop to get a very high-quality distributor.

Re: prelude engine question

oh man.... no reason to burn out when your car is on the line...

here, i found this by typing "distributor obd1 obd2" in the search pane...
SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS IS FUUUUUN !!!!

external and internal coil setups are the only difference, in which if your engine is obd1/obd2

just to be a dick, lol jk, ill include this little snippet that took 2 minutes of looking through google search results.

hope this helps.

after even more searching i found that u can get a "nology" cap and accessories, Nology High Performance Distributor Cap for Honda / Acura now its not the whole assembly, just the cap...
but if u want it to work well pair it with a high po ignition module too Nology Profire High Performance Ignition Module Honda Acura Volkswagen Universal
upgrade fuel delivery too, since it will get such a beefy spark... If u have a turbo on your car, i suggest u do ALOT more research and get to know it. Dont ever rev up the engine before shutting it off either

Re: prelude engine question

Check the time stamps on the front of the block if i'm not mistaken. Kronn over on preludepower can tell you exactly where your motor came from if you PM him.
