Icon5 Type S swap in a Base

so ive gotten alota heat 4 this but i rele wanna do it kuz...i got it lol i got a base 01 5th gen and i got a type S engine, m2u4 trans, the typeS ecu and wire harness sittin in my garage. everything that i have been readin on in the past few months are telling me that id need 2 get sh axles and from what ive read about sh and base suspension differences is that its not required to swap sh front end components in2 my base because it doesnt really interfere with atts....but what about the distributor and oil pump? if i use the type S wire harness would i still need 2 change it 2 the ones on my usdm engine? and also what else do yall think im overlookin? thanx in advance

I have been researching for the last few months to no prevail; the info I have found has led me to believe that I need axles from the Prelude SH. Do I really need to get the parts from an SH to make ATTS work on my base model Prelude? Do I need to change my distributor and oil pump as well?
Fixed, I have a damn headache. OP go to grammar school before you do your swap. I want some ****ing mac n cheese.

Re: Type S swap in a Base

I don't think you can use the distributor. You have to swap to USDM. I wish people put more thought into answering and helping you instead of mocking and demeaning you. I understand the education system in this county's sucks. I won't hold you at fault for that. But for the future, at least try to use better spelling and grammar. Spellcheck works miracles. Good luck bro.

On second thought, spellcheck sucks. It made countries turn to county's. Lmao

Re: Type S swap in a Base

haha my bad yall....kind of like 'ol boy joshuaaxd said...my questions pretty much centered around the wiring harness and if i would still need to use a usdm oil pump and distributor if i use the s harness, instead of doing something like buying a sh harness and maybe ecu. and as far as other stuff goes, i'm wondering if an sh instrument bezel would just plug up to my base int. harness because they're the same part #s on majestic honda orrr maybe i could just put a bulb where the light would come on, and it would just glow without the "atts" color filter? idk maybe...i just figured someone on here might have a lil more experience with these certain things than i do because this is my first time doing a swap

Just trying to make it so people will actually answer the post, without having to translate. This is out of my knowledge, that why I didn't contribute any further.

Re: Type S swap in a Base

you might have to switch axles, something about the halfshaft being different, dont hold me to it though. but no you dont need to change distributors or anything. they are both OBDII engines/ecu's so all you have to do is swap em out.
