Serious Chizz(Word Intensive)

Alright Fam I need your help. my car is a 1999 Base auto

I Got up this morning warmed up the Lude while I got ready to go take my last final, nailed that B****, but anyway. Driving to school, got on the freeway drove a couple miles, exited, then as I was approaching a red light, I got to a complete stop and the car Shut off. all the guages flashed, my lights and radio stayed on, the car, OFF. so I put it in park, waited a couple of seconds, started it, it Started Like a champ. Hmm,... didn't have time to really think, I had to get to school to take my test. I thought it might of been power issue, so when I Got to school I checked my Battery and the Conections, Solid, rock Hard, not loose. I checked my alternater wires, they were Solid as well.

I got off of work, (I work on campus) and I was On my way to the gym to get swole on I said aight Ill drive without the music, see if I hear anything. once again, warmed up the Lude drove out the lot on my way to the freeway. This time my car was Rolling, I had my foot still on the gas, it cut off again. the RPM and MPH gages went down, but this time only the Green Key light flashed, the imobilizer unit light I think. it cut off for 3 seconds then everything went back to normal and it drove fine all the way to the gym.

IDK whats wrong with it. I'm thinking maybe it could be the Imobilizer unit, I feel that way because for one, my key is not the one that came with the car, its an Acura key, and B its cracked, but still works. I dont want to put all my baskets in one Egg here so I was wondering if anyone has had a Problem like this??? anyone know what it might be??? any suggestions???

My CEL is on, however its on because of o2. I had it checked last week and thats what it was. I'm gonna check it again tomorrow to make sure there is no NEW code. any help would be great, im Stumped

Re: Serious Chizz(Word Intensive)

pretty sure there is a recall for this on the ignition relay or something like that. call or go down to your local honda dealer

Re: Serious Chizz(Word Intensive)

I got a notice in the mail for an ignition recall, my car is so far from stock I can't capitalize on the recall.

I'd say since you know you have an issue with the key, start there. W/O that information my answer would have been ignition system/ main relay.

Just got off the Phone with My honda dealer, my car has NOT been in for that Recall. although there are no guarantees, I really hope that is the issue. They said just bring it in and they'll fix it

Re: Serious Chizz(Word Intensive)

I ahd the same problem a couple days. I was slowing down to a red light and my car turned off. I was like WTF? I thought maybe I let go of the clutch abit or something. I turned it on and it was working fine. Haven`t had a problem with that so far and it`s been a couple days. WHat is acting a little strange is my idle. WHen I come to a stop my rpms gos down and then up. O_O Do they charge you to fix the recall? and this is for 97-01 right?

My car was doing the exact same thing and then I changed my Ignition Switch, Never had a problem since. It was a really easy swap also.

Re: Serious Chizz(Word Intensive)

Well, it happened again today. A good 3 weeks with no problems, but It happened again. On the freeway, the green key icon flashes and the car turned off. I do not have the red programming key for my car, so I believe I would have to get a new Imobilizer unit. Honda said about 500 for the parts and install. This sucks cuz I don't have that much yet, but that's the only other thing I can think of. I had my car serviced for the recall and i still have power it just turns off. Anyone agree it would be the key? Or anything else?
