RASPP!!!

Ok i have the gayest most raspy sounding muffler that came with my lude and its time to get rid of it. im pretty sure im running stock pipes but my piping does look kind of bigger but lets just say stock. im looking to get a vibrant muffler but i dont want a high pitched rice sound. would getting a megan racing test pipe with the Vibrant muffler fix that? only looking for sound here so suggestions please ! i know only a muffler wont make it sound the greatest

Re: RASPP!!!

check out youtube for dozens of exhaust set ups....personally i agree with you the ricey sound sucks....magnaflow hiflow cat with vibrant muffler or a full magnaflow set up sound the best...look up Magnaflow BB6 Prelude on youtube....hope this helps

Re: RASPP!!!

A test pipe will not get rid of any rasp - it will honestly make the car sound louder and potentially cause more rasp.

If you want to get a new exhaust - just go 3" and get 2 resonators with your choice of muffler, the resonators will quite the exhaust down alot, and the 3" pipe will give you some extra power.

Re: RASPP!!!

ya your friend you bought the whip from probably gutted the cat. instead just cut an add a resonator in the exhaust and you'll be fine

I prefer the Thermal R&D exhausts. Sound great.

Re: RASPP!!!

every muffler shop i call keeps telling me that 3 inches is too big and adding a resonator will add a clean sound

Proven to make power on our specific cars, but you don't have to if it makes no difference to you.

Just go 2.5" (if you aren't already) and have some decent resonators installed.
(not cherrybombs....)

I don't seen the sense in adding resonators to a stock exhaust (since you're unsure of what you have) And also check your cat as previously stated - if it's gutted then you'll want to get a new one from possibly magnaflow or another company.

Re: RASPP!!!

eh, better than stock either way.

Not like you would be loosing anything if you went 2.5 :)

Re: RASPP!!!

If you want aftermarket I'll repeat myself for the 313,145,162 time.

You wan't an 18" resonator (you can buy them cheap, flowmaster preferably)

And a twin loop muffler or an N1 style muffler with a silencer. Either way it'll be a nice grumble tone.
