Re: funny turn signal light

The fast blink is due to an open circuit. Is the right front signal burnt out?

The right front signal works fine, just the right rear one is not working

Re: funny turn signal light

did you look at the old bulb to see if it was in fact blown? look at the new bulb and make sure it wasn't broken in some way. i've gotten defective bulbs right out of the package. if you can't tell, swap in a known good bulb from the left rear turn signal. if that doesn't fix the problem you got some wiring issues..

OK...you're saying the right indicator in the instrument cluster is blinking fast...I misunderstood. Same issue, though -- that's the reaction to an open circuit. If you tried a new bulb and that didn't work, you might have a little corrosion in the socket. Wrap a small piece of fine or extra fine sandpaper around a pencil eraser and clean off the bulb contacts, then try the bulb again. If that doesn't work, check the taillight cluster for a loose wire. I can't think of anything else that would go wrong and just affect the one light -- a fuse or the flasher relay would affect more than one light.

Could be a bad stem as well.... I've had that issue where it only affected one side, replaced the stem and all works fine now. But test everything first as previously stated.

Stem would be your switch that stems off of the steering column. That entire "stick" that you use to control your turn signals and headlights is 1 piece that is bolted up/ snapped into place when you remove that black cover behind the steering wheel.

Part Detail

number 16 in that diagram. But check everything else first!!
