flyerfolife h22 rebuild thread

so i decided to start a thread on my h22 build. First, let me tell you that I want to boost my lude in the future, and when I do, I plan on buying another h22 and going balls out. So, seeing as I am 16 and i have a full mechanic shop at my disposal, and a auto mech instructor whos been doing this stuff for 30 years, I decided to rebuild this engine (which has 210k miles) so it will last long enough for me to save up and fully build an h22, (or an evo....) and boost it.
so without further ado, I bring to you, my first rebuild.

set up on the rack ready to start tearing out

bone stock

after 2 hours work

ready to be pulled

it's out!

i felt pretty

next step was to get the tranny off

and the intake manifold

now I can start working on the actual engine

looks good directly under the valve cover, which im planning on re-painting

cams out

not too bad

and here is were all the magic happens

flipped it over and got the pan off

i thought this was a good wallpaper on my phone

pretty good, 210k miles and still a good amount in the service limit.

got the pistons out

yet another good wallpaper haha

my cylinder diameter, my block gets a rebore for Christmas

took my block to industrial machine & engine supply. privately owned and really good at what they do, making engines faster.

stock pistons vs. type S pistons

Re: flyerfolife h22 rebuild thread

looking forward to seeing what you have in store for this build.

Are you going to be putting all stock parts back in? or put a few goodies in there while your at the rebuild?
