Heat not working, used search, read stickies

So, the climate control lever works, blower motor blows well... But I get no heat. The tube in the coolant overflow tank had come loose and it sucked air into the cooling system, but I replaced the hose, clamped it down, and refilled. Thought I bled all the air out of the system but do yall think it might still have air in the heater core? The heat does come back occasionally when the engine's warm and I drive it hard. Any help is much appreciated.

Your car engine heating up to its normal temp? I would replace the thermostat if you haven't.

Warms to normal temp, no overheating. Been keeping a close eye on that. Also, T stat opens, can see fluid circulating when the cap is off the rad and engine up to temp...

I know its a dumb question but, is your heater core hooked up, it is possible that the previous owner looped the lines due to the heater core going bad

I thought the same thing, yes it is hooked up. It has started getting warm again since replaced the hose in the overflow tank... Still stays cold for a bit, but hopefully it's working the problem out. I'm assuming it's just air in the lines...

I say a good radiator flush would solve your problems.

Make sure the cable for the heater valve is not jammed nor broken, also make sure that you can move the valve by hand.

Done and Done. Worked. heat is back to working after replacing the hose inside the overflow tank. Must have been sucking air in.
