Ductaped Bundle

This photo was taken facing towards the back of the car, right below the distributor on the left side of the engine. You can see the spark plug wires to get a good idea of where this is at.

My problem is that my tach will bounce wildly after my car is warmed up and then my engine dies. My engine's idle isn't actually bouncing, just the tach. I went to a shop and they say it's the distributor, but when I put in a different one, the problem was still there.

I've found that if I shake this bundle of wires (the one that is made of the two plugs coming off of the distributor and goes down out of site into the engine) hard enough, the engine dies. You can't really tell from this picture, but it's bound together with ductape. Does anybody else's look like that? I don't know if that's from the factory work or from the previous owner.

Help please?

Really? I thought The stitching was covered up by stickers of kittens and stars.... Your a brave man cause if you pull off the stickers YOU VOID THE WARRANTY.

No problem. This covers your tach issue too. Look close cause all the wires are interconnected. and just a warning..... Nothing in wiring diagrams is really as simple as it looks. the real life wiring is a PAIN IN THE STARS AND KITTENS.

Re: Ductaped Bundle

Hey guys, just wanted to give yall an update.
Boy do I feel stupid. My dad came and found the problem and fixed it in under 20 minutes. He found a loose ground wire. Tightened it up, and everything runs perfect. Wow. Now I'm just worried about the 6 month old gas.
