Turn signals

Hi,
Does anyone know how to take the lens of the turn signals apart? I tried heating it up like I did with my headlights at 240 degrees but the glue/silicone doesn't seem to soften at all.

Re: Turn signals

I'm pretty sure they're not glued, rather fused together.

why are you trying to take them apart?

Re: Turn signals

Yea, it doesn't seem like glue. It looks really solid. Slight breaking, cutting doesn't do anything. I want to take it apart because I plan to do a white LED DRL into the turn signal, and also do the LED turn signal too. I got almost everything else figured out for this mod, and I thought opening the turn signals would be the easy part, which turns out to be the hard part :(

Re: Turn signals

you'd have to cut the back out, and either plastic weld or glue them back together.

Re: Turn signals

That sucks. Never thought that would become a big problem. Now I don't know if i should cut my OEM turn signals or buy another set and do the mod on that set?

Re: Turn signals

Alright, thanks for the replies. I will try and do this mod, if successful, I will try to make a write-up.
